I'm thinking of purchasing one of these little .380 for my collection but what makes them so damn expensive? Price around here is $699 Buds is about $50 less, I can get a full size big brother M9/92FS for $200 cheaper. What dont I understand?

P.s I think I'm still going to get one anyways

Volume sales (meaning Uncle Sugar) on the 92's makes them cheaper? I really like my 84, but haven't priced one lately.

It is the same thing with that gun's cousin, the Browning BDA.  I think it has to do with the small batches that these guns are/were produced in.  They are made the "old school" way, which means hand fitting and hand finishing.  I think they are nice guns, but not worth the price.  I know people that carry them and like them.  They are very easy to shoot very well, which MOST .380 guns are NOT.  Nor do they carry the capacity of this gun.  I'd probably just get a CZ-83 for under $400 and call it a day.

I seldom carry a .380 but I do own both the Beretta 84 and Sig P230. I have had both of mine coated with Birdsong Black-T to negate the rust issues that occasionally occur from a blue steel gun riding close to the skin.

Both are great guns but the Beretta is the more pleasant shooter FYI.
