| I have 38, 357, 40, and 45 brass. The smallest pistol I have to carry is glock 23. I want something small enough to carry that I will actually carry it. I'd love a small Kimber...please show me what bank to rob for funds. I have thought of a small revolver like 442 and 642's. Maybe even a 380 in a ruger, keltec, or Kahr. Give me your choice and why please?? |

My choice would just be to carry the G23 you already have. Better to carry enough gun and dress around it. This^, maybe a 27 to go w/ it, same holsters and mags for reloads. Yes, I think the answer is obvious. Glock 27. I wonder if you can't fix this problem with a better holster for the 23. If you are going to carry IWB you should be able to conceal a 23 fine with the right holster. If you are looking for a pocket or ankle gun I say get a Ruger LCR or a S&W 442/642 without a lock. How do you plan on carrying this new gun and if it is on the belt or IWB why can't you use the 23? ETA what is your current set up for the 23? |

When you check on the dimensions and weight of 1911 variants they tend not to fare well against plastic guns if weight and size matter to you for CCW. You're on your own for all prices as these are old and looking up the 1911 models for comparison.

Didn't fit my hand well at all and I'm glad it didn't. The S&W M&P 9c is just the right mix of small enough for IWB carry and big enough for accurate firepower. Would pick it again for this application in a heartbeat. |

I carried a G27 for a couple of years and traded for a J-frame for comfort. I forget I have it with a paddle holster. Now I am thinking of getting another 27 for or maybe a 19 for winter carry. I can just stick my j-frame in my pocket to run into a convenience store when in shorts and a t-shirt.

second the Kimber. especially the 3"Ulra. It's a 1911. It's a .45, 7,8 rounds. concealable, light and manageble accuracy They've many problems with those 3" frames cracking, That cartridge was designed for a 5" bbl and large, steel frame. |
| kimber ultra or springfield xdsc get my vote! i have carried both with no probs. the 1911 is a tad heavier but both are fine. try a few out first! i bought a glock 23 on a recommendation and HATED it! lost $ trading it for an XD and couldnt have been happier. oh wait i couldve saved $ and bought the XD first! point is, dont settle on recommendations. try them out! |
| Get a good holster and belt for the 23 and try it for a few months. It is a very reasonable size for concealment if you wear more than a swimsuit and it is somewhat light. If you find it is just too much size or weight, look at a Kahr in 9mm or a j frame S&W. I prefer a Commander or CCO sized 1911 but that is looking at over 30 ounces loaded and not a pocket carry option. |

Kel-Tec PF-9.
It isnt a gun I would take for an "enjoyable day at the range", but its pancake flat, goes bang every time, is dirt cheap, and is invisible on my hip in my Spartan. If money werent an option, i would have bought the Kahr PM-9. All bets are off when Glock comes out with a single stack 9 YMMV |

I don't carry a semi auto, but I did see a used stainless kimber pro carry 4" for $675 shipped yesterday. Not mine.
Here is the link. I have a smith wesson 337 titanium revolver that i have been carrying when I need to carry something light. |
| I prefer semi autos, but if you want minimal weight and bulk, 442 is a great choice. Manageable recoil and pretty accurate to most distances that many shooting occur. Load it with some +P ammo and you got a good lil package. Big minus on the capacity, though. I prefer to CC an HK P2000, but a lot depends on body size for concealment issues. |

I would probably vote G27 or M&P40C or a small revo like the 442

I have both an HP and a G19 and while I haven't measured them I can tell you for sure the HP is not wider then the 19. At least not in slide width. At most they may be close to even in the grip area but even there I'd bet the Glock is wider. |
