Anybody have one or have any experience with this gun?
I picked one up reasonable at an auction today and it looks practically NIB. Excited to take it out and shoot it. |

What caliber?
We sold a ton of them at the shop I worked at 10-15 years ago, up until Interarms stopped importing them and went out of business. They were never put through and torture test, and I don't know of anyone that did anything but casual range shooting and keeping them for home defense. I'd really like to have one of the 9mm ones, and they stopped being sold before I could get one. The 40SW and 45ACP had a bit of punishing recoil from reports from the customers that bought them. Never a complaint on the 9mm's, and none ever came back for repairs and I don't recall any coming in used for trade. Sold for about $350 back then in the blued version. |

The 40's had extractors issues/breakage, one of the guys who worked for Interarms bought all the parts but he ran out long ago. Some people found a guy in Spain but I think he ran out too. I bought a broken 9mm (cracked at the hood) and replaced the slide when parts where cheap. I know another guy who crack his in the same place so keep up on your recoil springs.
BTW, the 45's where easy to shoot do to the weight but the PD (alloy frame) was more of a handful but easy to carry. (owned both) The PD was known to crack the bushing after so many rounds but I was told by the Interarms smith it was designed that way to save the frame. All shoot nice groups with 's pet loads. |

I used to have one in .40. Carried it a fair amount too................it was always reliable, and no problem to shoot.
The only thing I didn't like about it was the total lack of "logistical support". As others have already pointed out, Interarms quit doing its thing. It was next to impossible to find recoil springs, or anything else that might have broken on the gun. Could barely find mags.............finally was able to start getting them at the local funshow. Other than that, it was a great little gun. Very compact, due to the action being SA. It became a backup gun to my 1911, then was traded away, simply because I'd replaced it in that role with other guns, and no longer had a need for it. But I always liked it. |

I have owned two......Starvel in the mid-to-late 90's......and I own a blued one now......mags are hard to come by and they will be expensive.
I routinely shoot mine in back-up gun matches and they are pretty darn accurate. I would not dry-fire it. I broke the firing pin on my first one. I ordered a couple of spare parts from the guy in Spain about a year ago. Look under the OTHER thread under handgun section and you will find a tacked Star Arms thread. You can also visit gunboards.com and find the spanish pistol thread.....lots of good info there also. I ordered a set of Trijicon night sights and had them installed locally. It makes a great carry gun. I wish some of the modern holster makers (Comp-tac, Tucker, etc.) would make holsters for them. If you are left handed and need a holster, PM me if you are interested in a Bladetech UCH IWB..... |

Our M43 and M45 are still going strong after seeing almost two decades of use by us. The M43 is great to fire and very easy to double tap with. Both are very easy to clean, but be sure not to lose the spring/pin when you slide the rear sights out.
Gunbroker is a good place to find parts & accessories for the M43. I've picked up quite a few magazines and spare parts for both the M43 and M45 there. They do sell holsters there as well, but I can vouch for any of them. I've used an IWB holster for a number of years, but I forget where I got it. |
