among these brands, what's your favorite polymer pistol, and why.

Currently, the M&P full-size. The only thing that bugs me about it is the beavertail, but not enough to file it off. I have no idea if this voids the lifetime service warranty. That damn thing serves no purpose, as it's impossible to get bit by the slide EVEN WITHOUT that there, as long as you're not completely retarded. The compact models seem to be fine without it.

If the next generation of Glocks is well-conceived and even a little bit more ergonomic than the current gen (i hate the finger grooves), then my choice may be different.

M&P line is my favorite. Glock and XD/XDM don't work for me, just feel uncomfortable to hold and shoot. The M&P however feels like it belongs there and I shoot it very well. I haven't really handled any other polymer frame pistols than these. I am somewhat interested in the PPS still though.

Nicely  put.

My M&P 9 feels great in hand, balances and points very well.

Don't own any plastic guns at the moment.

However, I wouldn't mind picking up a SP2022. The P07 is pretty nice, but I'm still not completely confident in the changes they made to the trigger system.

I've got 2 M&Ps, a full size .40 as well as a 9c, and they're both fine tools; ergonomic, accurate, soft shooting and they've been 100% reliable out of the box.

Best of all they work extremely well for for me, my primary, is the full size .40 and it is like a scalpel in my hands; I'm not only carrying this pistol, I'm very well armed with it.

The M&P is without question my favorite.

Why:

- Reliable
- Cheap
- Easy to shoot well
- Ergonomically superior to most other options on the market
- Accurate (Both inherent mechanical accuracy and in practical terms)
- Superb platform for integration of accessories like lasers and lights
- Low maintenance

I voted Glock because that's what I own (and Like).

However, I have only had the opportunity to shoot an M&P a couple times, and they were both brief. I got the impression that if I owned an M&P and got to shoot it as much as my G19 then I would probably like it better then the Glock.

Glock, XDm being a close second.

But I still prefer steel/alloy framed pistols.

i have a glock 17 and 19, an xd45 compact tactical and xd45 service.  i like my glocks more than the xds with their lower bore axis and less creepy trigger with shorter reset.  plus i can change out the sights myself on a glock.

Of your choices I voted FN because mine has been 100% reliable and has a nice DA/SA trigger and I can't stand Glock style triggers.
My first choice though is the Walther P99 with the AS trigger which is even better than the FN.

HK - P30
Sig - 2022
M&P - any

Nothing wrong with Glocks, but they don't fit me well. They did really get the polymer crowd going back in the day, but I still think there are much better designed "tupperware blasters" than glocks. Just as reliable, but more accurate shooting, and ergonimically fit the human hand better.

Here are some pictures.

I have had this gun for a while now and it is the best 9mm I have ever had.  It eats anything so far, I have shot many IDPA matches with it.  last year I ran it from Jan to Oct (4 matches a month) only shooting monarch steel cased ammo without any cleaning.  The slide started running slow so I switched to Blazer Brass and cleaned it before the next match.

I use it as a carry gun when I want a full size gun, It has the controls and trigger pull of a 1911 and the weight of a Glock.  The only down side is the dust cover is thicker than a metal 1911 so it won't fit all holsters depending on how they are made.  Also is in not Daschund approved.
