| I have only had stainless pistols in the past but I have a new black Sig P226 Navy that I have some concerns about in terms of interior finish. I shot the heck out of it yesterday and I couldnt be happier with its performance but cleaning it today I noticed a lot of discoloration in interior part of slide. Almost like a rainbow purple looking pattern inside and 2 spots finish completely worn off. Outside of gun looks fine. Also, it came with a damn plastic spring guide..... |
| I have been reading alot about sig QC lately and there are not too many people that are happy with their new pistols. I have not heard any stories of Lemons or malfunctions. The plastic guide rod would concern me a bit but the finish problems wouldn't bother me as long as it stays in the interior. I would say that as long as it performs well for you then its still a great gun to own. Somebody should contact sig and ask them WTF is up with the plastic shit. And then post the response on here. |

The rainbow on the inside is normal. The slide is stainless so no worries. I believe the rainbow spot is where the slide is held during finishing.
On the plastic guide rod, don't let it worry you. SIG has done this on and off My '96 239 and '98 220 both came with plastic. I replaced the 220 at 5,000 rounds when I changed the spring. The 239 is still plastic. |
