I wonder how many ARFCOMMERS post count is higher then the number of rounds they shot downrange in the last year.
Talk about stirring up the pot.......
Go to a IPSC or IDPA match and lay off the computer

Well, if I could find ammo I might actually do some shooting.  These last few months have been my all-time lowest monthly round counts ever.

If it matters, I put downrange 18,157 rounds in 2008.

Yes, I really do keep track.

I go shooting at least once a week.  I also compete in every formal match that I am able to attend.  Lately, I shoot less centerfire and more rimfire but, my round count each time I shoot is still about the same.  My post count is a joke compared to last year's round count.

You don't have to be here long to see that there are a lot of couch commandos on this site.  Just like anywhere else on the internet, you learn to sift out the kernels of wisdom from the wannabe chaff.
Personally, I'm lucky to get to the range once a month.  I probably put 2000 rounds through my pellet rifle and pistol last year because it's less hassle!

I don't keep count of how many rounds I put through my firearms. Its not a fucking car. Why the fuck would you need to know how many rounds you put through a firearm??? Are you that fucking anal??? Whoop dee fucking do, you put 10K rounds of ammo through your gun, I'm impressed, who fucking cares.

Because, like a car, firearms need routine maintenance to keep running...especially if you are betting your life on whether or not they will go bang when you need them to. Keeping track of the rounds fired through the weapon is something EVERYONE should do. The number of rounds you've put downrange in a particular weapon or platform also helps you see whether or not that specimen or platform has any issues.

I keep track of rounds fired, as well, for maintenance monitoring reasons. I did not, however, fire 5,551 rounds last year. I'd love to be able to afford that, but I shoot as much as I feasibly can.

Exactly.  You can know how reliable your gun actually is without selective memory and personal bias creeping in, and you can replace parts like springs and pins at specified intervals before they break or go out of spec.  Keep a log.  It take very little time or effort.

What are your classifications?  What divisions do you compete in?

I've shot 500 + change so far this month alone... which isn't a lot, but ammo prices prohibit me from shooting more.

I definitely shot more than i posted, but that's not saying much...

Remind me to never shoot any of your guns.

I've shot more than my post count a month ago in one sitting.

out of the country for much of the year, then abroad in a different state... in all, only had access to a range for about 3 months. round count? err....  pretty low for me... maybe 3000?

i peaked about 3 years ago at maybe 10k or so, perhaps 11k

edit: i shoot a fair amount of rifle, and almost no 22lr... so my round count is going to be depreciated.

Same here, I keep a round count log for all my weapons.  I know when to change recoil springe, etc.  Makes sense to me.

The OPs question was ridiculous, and borders on the verge of trolling.
