Ok so I had to strip my 17 to a frame cause the Cpt was screaming at me during formation the other day that it wasn't clean enough. Well the extractor was lost in the abyss under my dishwasher. I cannibalized my 19 for it's extractor since it's out of rotation being that it's summer time now. Will the 17 work with a 19 extractor? I think it will if I remember correctly. But I don't want to get on the range tomorrow and end up with a dead gun.

Sounds like your Cpt needs to be replaced with a leader and mentor.  He sounds like a cop with 20years of 1 year experience.  I also do not understand why you would break down that far when compressed air and qtips could be found.  Other than that observation I have no useful info to offer about the two parts.

Yes, that extractor will work.  They interchange. If your G17 and G19 were both LCI or non-LCI, i.e. the same, you won't have to change the Spring Loaded Bearing either.  (little plastic piece on the back end of the Extractor Spring, and back end of slide.)

Nothing wrong with a good detail strip every once in a while.  Good to have a clean weapon, especially if it's a "working gun".
