| S & W 669 back from factory with a new frame. No more 669 frames so they fixed me up with a 6906 frame. I cant get the slide stop out no matter how hard I try. Any help is appreciated... Thanks in advance! |
| Takes three hands, but try holding the slide in the correct position (same as the 669) while using something hard but that will not mar the frame (like the handle of a screwdriver...not the blade) to push it out and away from the frame, You will, of course, push on the side opposite from the slide stop itself. |

Thanks for the info. I took it to a smith and he did the same thing. Needed a punch and a ball peen, and a light whack. This is a new frame from Smith so I am assuming itll be easier as I shoot more. (am I correct here?) Anyway it had a cracked rail so S&W replaced the frame free. They didnt have any more 669 frames so they fitted a 6906. Bit different grip and trigger guard but I actually like it better, and I got a damn near new gun to boot. Thanks for all of the response!! |
