I have a couple questions about commander size 1911's.
first, what is the exact difference between government and commander frames? i know that the dust cover of a commander is a little shorter, and the "back wall" of the recoil spring area is 1/10 of an inch deeper. I know that the frame rails are shorter on a commander as well, but by how much? Does a commander frame/slide have the same recoil stroke length as a government frame/slide? also, if someone has a commander 1911 and a government 1911, can you post some pictures of the two showing the differences? also, has anyone installed the 4.15" recoil master from STI into a commander 1911? have any pictures? any help/ info is appreciated |
