been looking for a Springfield 1911.was in my local shop today found a new springfield mil-spec has 2 sets of grips and 2 mags.dealr said he would throw in a box of federal ammo for $629.00 out thedoor.is this a good deal.  thanks

in today's market that isn't a bad deal. The actual price should be closer to 550-570 before they all disappeared. But I have not seen a mil-spec go for less than 600 for over 3 months now.

I would keep shopping. Push comes to shove, you can order one off of Gun Broker or CDNN or some such.

How soon before the big Louisville gun show comes back around? I bet you'd find a better deal there, IMO.

Mags probably cost your dealer $10, if that. Ditto for the ammo, so that's not much movement on his part, IMO.

actually that is how the milspec comes 2 mags and 2 sets of grips. So he didn't give you anything. But if you have to have it, that is about the going rate. If you can wait, hopefully it will come back to normal soon.
