I am sorry if this has been beaten to death but I have to make a decision.

I need a 9mm pistol, (no plastic I am saving that for .40 S&W )  I already own a .45 1911 in SS, paid $1,200+ for it.
Do I get  the 9mm in a 1911, a CZ75B SA or a BHP?  (or is there any other metal gun I should be considering).
I will spend $1,000 + to get a higher end gun, including the smithing, no matter which of the three I pick.
What is your advice and Why?

i know you said no plastic, but i would recomend the h&k p30 to anyone.  i got mine about a year ago and i love it.  i have put about 2300 rounds through it (2200 winchester white box, and 100 speer gold dot +p) and haven't had a single problem with it.  the thing about it that sold me was the grip.  it just feels natural in my hands.  plus i have grown to love where the mag release is.  that was one of those "why didn't anyone think of that before?" things.  the decocker takes some getting used to, but once you do it just becomes second nature.

as far as a metal gun, my dad has a s&w 9mm 910s.  it is a good gun.  he has only put about 500 rounds through it and no problems so far.  da/sa with all the other features of any other 1911.  the one thing i don't like about it (except for it being a 1911 style) is the fact that you can't cock it with out the mag in.  that seems like it could cause some problems later down the road, but so far it has worked flawlessly.

I can also read and know you said NO plastic but you can buy 2 Glock 19's for that or a 19 and a 23(or any other flavor, XD, M&P, etc.)

Sig P226.....  no question.

I have a Sig P226.

However, you can't go wrong with the CZ-75. I fired one and the SA was a dream to shoot. I've never touched a BHP, but I've heard their triggers leave much to be desired. A 1911 in 9mm is pricey and also lacks the mag capacity. However, it's a 1911.

If money were an issue, I'd get the CZ. (The Tactical version is very cool.) However, a 1911 is a 1911. I'm sure some 1911 purists will tell you they only belong in .45ACP and .38 Super.

I have a CZ PCR, very accurate, fits the hand nice, a dream to shoot....except its DA/SA and I usually don't get the 1st round exactly where I want it so the G19 is my go to 9mm.  I guess if the DA 1st shot isn't a problem for you I'd recommend the CZ hands down over the others you mentioned.......

CZ-75 S(ingle)A(ction) would get my vote. It's my IPSC back-up gun & shoots wonderfully!

Just me but I really like the beretta M9, though I'd go for an M9A1 for the extra features. Only thing that really ircs me is the spongy trigger and the slide mounted safety.

I'm also a fan of the XDM, but you said no plastic...

Of the OP's listed choices, I'd say CZ75B.

I'm a fan of the Beretta 92 or Sig P228 for a general 9mm pistol. Out of your choices I would go with the CZ75. The HK P7 is a good pistol also.

CZ all the way.  You can get hi-cap with relatively slim grip and hammer stop safety so you can keep it condition one like a 1911(with either DA/SA or SA only models).

What KIND of pistol do you need though?  Compact CCW, Full-size, rail/no rail, etc?  What is it for?

Sig 226 if you want a nice piece of german steel, or mt suggestion take a look on the new Tanfoglio, same as the CZ but for me with some better feature and better finish

What are you going to use it for?  CCW, IDPA/IPSC, general range gun?

Lots of good stuff out there.  SIG, Glock, Smith, Beretta, CZ, Browning, Ruger, H & K, Walther, take you pick, all of them work well.  9mm 1911 is kind of scarce.  Not sure who is making them currently.

If possible try and shoot as many different ones as you can.  You'll know when you find "The One".

Springfield Armory Loaded 1911 in 9mm
Do your research & you will find this is one
nice 1911 And with many features that
normally would be near twice the price.
I bought this a couple weeks ago & love it
& like I said for the price it's awesome.
The accuracy is fantastic & fit & finish
is beautiful. Very tight action & extremely smooth,

And a BIG plus with it being a 1911
Recoil is almost non exsistent. I haven't
had a chance to shoot past 20ft..but at that
distance it will shoot the same hole
every time.

CZ 75B SA custom done as you said, or stock as it is great either way. I did and don't regret it at all.

The BHP in 9mm is hard to find but it would be my first choice if available in super good condition.

On the other hand, the Sig is tough to beat.
