My Dad gave me this little .22 auto that I'm having trouble finding info on. He lost the manual a long time ago, and besides being bought in the mid to late '70s, he can't tell me much about it. I can't figure out how to disassemble the damn thing! My dad says he barely shot it, but seems to remember the magazine needed to be replaced. Would love to find a manual and source for parts, but any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Well, you have most of the information, it's a Mercury model 622 22long rifle. As you know, they were made in Belgium. Cherry's currently has one for sale though it doesn't sem to be in as nice a condition as yours. They are asking $175.00.

First time I ever saw one and my books don't even cover it.
It looks like the key to takedown may be in locking the slide back and possibly rotating the barrel?
Also, maybe the magazine is OK but the follower spring may have weakened?
I would look for a similar one in a Beretta model 21 or even a Jennings J-22 to fit/replace it with.
I'm thinking pre '68 on that gun as small imported guns pretty much stopped then.
Nice gift and thanks for sharing it with us.
