Start looking in the used case.

I would look for a used CZ in primo condition or look at the EAA Witness line if you need a new one. The Taraus 92s are not bad either if you want a new one. Just my opinion though.

What caliber do you want?
What are you using it for?
What pistols do you already have?

And it will be difficult to buy new for $350

your budget isnt going to give you to many choices. Like already mentioned look for something used or at a local gun show. I know hipoint makes some pretty cheap stuff but you are getting what you pay for.

Unless a guy is on his way into divorce court the second he sells you his gun, you're NOT gonna find anything worth shooting for under $200-250. A Makarov is probably going to be the best inexpensive semi & they're normally in the $250 range these days.

Avoid anything made by Lorcin, Jennings, Byrco & Hi-Point. I had rather have a sharp knife instead of one of those.

A police trade-in of a wheel gun in .38spl is another good option. Many can still be had in the $250-300 range, but most will be a 4" bbl.

For a new firearm in that range, probably the TaurusMilennium Pro would be the cheapest auto I would consider at $340 or so.  Depends what caliber, what size firearm, what purpose it has.   Although if you have never owned a firearm, not sure you should start with a compact auto.  Probably a used wheelgun or new S&W 442 would be the place to start...

Just hit Bud's, sort all handguns by price.  A LOT of stuff is out of stock though, even for them. Go to page 12 to also look at the out-of-stocks all together to at least get an idea of what else is out there.  Personally I would just wait an extra week or so to get the budget up to around $450-500 and the choices get much better.

One dealer in the EE has the FNH FNP-9 stainless for only $470 as well.

Both of my 9mm semi-autos cost me $350 or less.  I bought them used, and they both fire pretty awesomely.  The first was a Sig P226 police trade in.  The second was a Beretta PX4 civilian trade in.

Keep your fingers crossed that a new batch of P6s come in soon. That would be my pick for a cheap, but good quality, 9mm.
