A family member brought a friends junker over for me to check out. Its a Bryco by Jennings 9mm, the whole front of the slide from the front sight to the muzzle blew apart. Appears that the frame and barrel are fine.... its been scrapped out though.
Just thought that it was interesting.....

Well the buyer of that fine firearm is to be congratulated. He saved $350 over buying a Glock.

Someone fired it and its pot metal slide let go.

*Insert the typical asinine glock Kb joke complete, with pic and eventual admission of using LRN reloads and not cleaning the gun here*
No really though, is the shooter okay? Shit that looks bad! Its why you buy a quality gun!

I am told that the shooter is fine, no damages.... other tthan he $100 lesson learned. It went bang, and pieces flew everywhere, he couldnt even locate the pot metal pieces, the springs were found. I guess that what you see left stayed together and did not come back at the shooter.
He was hoping to maybe get a new slide..... I suggested that he throw it in the scrap bin.
I have had those "junk" Glocks for 20+ years and my original G17 is still going strong....

Yeah it appears a casting mark is visible in the photo.

Somebody save this for the next "What are your opinions on Lorcin/Jennings/Bryco" thread.
You do get what ya pay for. Glad the shooter wasn't hurt.

What always gets me is that you are just patient (and not a douchbag) you can most often find great deals on used weapons instead of buying this kind of junk.
