Just a quick question, is it legal for a gunshop owner to let someone under 21 handle a handgun?
Every gunshop I've ever been too has always asked "are you 21 or over?" but last week I went into a shop and asked the guy about the legalities of someone owning a handgun who's under 21. then I started asking questions about the glock 17 they had on display and he just took it out and handed it to me to let me handle it. This is in washington if that matters. |

It varies by state. In CT, a IL you must have a permit for the gunshop to hand a pistol or hadgun to you (considered transfer of possesion even though you haven't bought it.) In Ct you must be 21 as well.
Never saw this as a problem in Washington. No problem with the gunshop handing a pistol to anyone for viewing in Georgia either. Stationed in the other two states on orders from the navy. |
