Ok, I am turning 21 in 3 months, and 7 days. So, yeah, I'm gonna tip a few back here at the house, with my dad, after I buy my first pistol.

My question to you, is which one?!?!?!

I want something nice. Something with class. Not just another EBP (Evil Black Pistol), that will come later. How much later? Probably a week.

This brings me to another problem(?), I already own a .40, and its nothing special, but I have "enough" ammo for it. And, although I like the .40 in general, and I'd like to kind of standardize some of my firearms, I've been pondering a .45.

So, in a nutshell, I want a worthy handgun for my 21st birthday, that is nice looking, fun to shoot, semi auto, and either .40 or .45.

For under 1K.

what say thee almighty ARFCOM?

Springfield MC operator

I was set on one, until I talked to my dad, who said he could help out a little bit with the cash, and the next thing you know I sent out a payment on one of these:

Other guns to look at!

I'd go with the MC operator.

THIS (or a similar, quality 1911...but the MC Op is tough to beat for the price)

imo, if fits all your criteria, from being "fun" to shoot, to worthy of owning, and under 1K

other 'advice': you may want to test fire diff models before putting down the cash for a specific one

Can you specify the action type?  DA/SA, SAO, DAO, DAK, or whatever else there is out there.  Does this even matter to you?

For 1K you could buy a Glock 21SF, a light, and some ammo. Or just buy a good 1911.

Though a 1911 fan, I'm usually not one to recommend 1911s in these types of threads. However, based on your post, I think a 1911 might be exactly what you should get. Can't beat that Operator that's been posted already...
