Does anyone have any experience with the SW1911 .45ACP Sub Compact? If so how did it function? What is the recoil like?

I have a 4.25" Smith 1911PD that runs very well, but I'm not aware of a S&W sub compact 1911. I also have a Kimber Ultra CDP which is a 3" subcompact model.

Recoil is a bit more than a steel frame 5" gun but it's not any problem with either.

Yep then evidently they have just introduced it.

I guess I can't expect any reviews then :-)

It ought to run will if it's built to the same quality as their full size guns. I'm not much into 1911s that are smaller than commander but this one looks real nice.

Proud of it aren't they? Suggested retail $1264.

That's MSRP, I doubt that's OTD price...

Would anyone with experience with 3 inch 1911s care to speculate about the recoil on these?

I have only fired the 5 inch models but I am leaning towards taking a chance on a 3 inch model for CCW.

I have a Kimber eclipse Ultra, I have no problem with recoil with this gun. I went to the range this past weekend with a new Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm and I easily out performed the Beretta with the Ultra. Freehand shooting standing the ultra grouped 2.5 inches at 15 yards the Beretta was around 12 inch group. Just could not adjust to the DA trigger on the Beretta, By the end of the session i was tightening up with the Beretta but still no comparison to the Ultra. Do not be afraid of the 3 inch 1911, thats my experience.
