My buddy has a guy that wants to trade a sig for his 10/22 he only gave $245 for the ruger.

Is this a good friend? I find a good thing to do is to always play fair. Especially with your friends. Why would one want to make a bad trade deal with his friend? If it's worth more, pay him more. And calling him a "dumb#@@" is not necessarily a good thing either. I would take this as an opportunity to educate him.
They are called Magazines. Not clips. Clips hold cartridges, magazines feed them in your firearm. I see that it's a guy that wants to trade your friend. Is this someone you will see again and be around? Again, I recommend treating people fairly. Otherwise I think if they figure out that it was a bad deal down the road, they may be irritated about it.
