Looking to buy 2 pistols. Pretty flexible on possibilities. (Don't hate on all the Taurus, unless you can suggest a better deal for a new gun) Browning Buckmark & Taurus PT-92 (.22 & 9mm) Taurus PT-92 & PT-1911 (9mm & .45) Taurus PT-92 & Raging Bull .44 (9mm & 44 Mag) Looking to buy pair for deal making, and jump start collection. Already waiting to transfer up to me from late Grandpa are a Mark II and a .38 Speed Six. |

my overall opinion: dump/skip the tauruses, opt for something else...there ARE other, better brands out there that offer comparble products w/ superior quality and CS imo i would opt for the Browning Buckmark and a used Beretta 92 (about the same price as a PT92, but the original and better quality, mags, etc) if you want a wheelgun, i'd look to a Ruger before any taurus...YMMV |
+1 The Beretta will be head & shoulders above the Taurus. There's lots of police trade-ins out there that can be affordable. |
| No Taurus bashing here, I owned a PT 1911 for over 2 years and it was a great entry level 1911 for me. If you're getting a MKII, don't spend money on a Buckmark too. That's an "either/or" situation, and both are good pistols. I know nothing about the PT 92, so no uninformed opinion will be offered, but S&W M&P's in 9 mm have treated me well. Getting ready to buy 2 guns is great fun, enjoy yourself. |
Sounds good to me.... |
