No bashing Glocks please. I have a 2nd Gen 17 that has been used very little. Great weapon. My issue is it has an extended mag release I don't really like. When I fire and am on my last round the mag will sometimes release and the slide won't lock open. I am also using the newest factory mags on the market. Is this the mag release?

A regular magazine release is cheap and easy to replace.  I'd get one and see if it makes the problem go away.

I can't think of any other reason why your magazine would be dropping.

Have you took the gun 100% apart and replaced all the springs?

The gen 2's are all due for a spring overhual by now.

Did that to my gen 2 G19 and it runs like a top now.
Some clown traded it in cause he couldn't replace a simple spring.

More so.

My "unissued" yugo 59/66 was the most cosmo'd gun I've personally cleaned.

Edit:
LOL sorry wrong thread.

My G19 was hardly fired and it needed a spring overhaul.
The glock is probably the easiest firearm in the world to 100% take apart.

Take it apart and start learning.
