I am considering purchasing a North American Arms 22 mag revolver (PUG). I currently own a NAA 22lr revolver and it works every time. I carry a Glock 27 every day but carry the NAA 22lr as a deep concelement pistol or when a G 27 is to big. Is the purchase of a PUG to gain a 22 mag over a 22lr worth the diffrence in performance and balistics.

I have fired a NAA 22 WMR revolver some time ago and found it difficult to hang on to due to the recoil.  The recoil is not bad, mind you, but in that particular weapon, the weight (or lack of it) and size works against control, especially if you have to pull it out of deep concealment in a crisis, and you might have sweaty hands.  As far as the ballistics, I couldn't say, though I figure you would get a moderate increase in energy and penetration.  Whether that penetration is going to make the difference, just remember that your barrel length severely limits any significant improvement in any kind of engagement, "tho it's still better than foul language or chunkin' rocks (maybe)!  My suggestion: ask the folks on this thread what they use for deep concealment.  I'm pretty sure you'd get some very good suggestions.  Good luck, and God bless.

the grip on the pug is nice ...the nite sites help find it in the dark...they are a last ditch weapon. The .22mag is definately louder!!! as far as ballistics...thats an old fight the famous".22mag will bounce around the body".   If it gives ya time to get out of harms way, then it does its job,and its so small there is no reason not to pack it. IMHO it has a slight advantage over the .22, but not enuff to buy one if ya already have a .22.
