Thank you for looking and responding.  As the title states I am looking for a 9mm pistol.

I have handled all of the pistols and feel very nice in the hand.
If I ever get a chance to use a CCW this will be it.
The main reason for a 9mm is that I have 3k of 9mm collecting dust with out a gun to shoot  it.

I currently have
Sig P220
Glock 22
HK USP 40c
Sig Mauser M2
S&W 686+ 6in
Taurus CIA .38
Colt Scout

What does the hive mind say?

The simple answer is a Glock 19....

The complicated answer involves the following, in order:

- What fits your hands? (you can shoot accurate if the gun is too big or too small)
- What do you want it for? (CCW, home gun, fun gun, etc...)
- What's your budget?

Go to a range that rents guns, try a bunch of them... Pick 3 or 4 that you like, do some research on the net about pros and cons of each one of them, then buy the one that has the most pros...

Good luck!

it is hard to beat a glock 19, and the only other gun that i would put toe to toe with it isn't one of the choices, so if i was you and had to pick from the guns you have listed i would go with the glock 19

heres another whats the "best"......

have you handled and of the guns youve polled?

I would think that if you did, you would know your answer.

any of them would be a good choice.  as to whats "best" is up to you.

You should put HK USP up there.

Failing that I'd look at a CPO Sig, since they're much better than glocks.

Love my Sprifield XD but the G19 is hard to beat.

well, even if you tried handling the guns, i still say anyone is fine.

you do mention CCW use too.  im surprised you didnt have any compacts/semi compacts listed.

I would have chose the Sig Sauer on your poll but the Glock 19 is where my heart is.  Now if you mentioned a .45 ACP pistol, I would go Sig Sauer P220 hands down.

Out of those pistols I only have experience with the G19 and P226.  Personally I find the G19 better for CCW purposes, plus I can shoot it better than the P226.  The Sig is an awesome pistol, don't get me wrong.

OR...

Save your money and just send me a case or two of that 9mm

Any of those will do fine. Since you already have a G22 I would just buy a 9mm conversion barrel from Lone Wolf and shoot 9mm that way.

I have a Glock 19 and 17 you can try if you'd like.  They are phenomenal firearms.

I'd also recommend the USP9 F or C.

The Fullsize mags can be had for 20-25 bucks now, and the compact mags 25-30.

Can't go wrong with either, and you already have Glock and HK.  No reason to add another platform when you already are used to the two best out there!

You must first narrow it down between striker fired and hammer fired, and then again between cocked and locked carry and DA/SA carry. All these guns are accurate, reliable, and supported with parts supplies.

Among the striker fired guns, the M&P 9 is better than the Glock.

Among the cocked and locked crowd, whichever you find a good deal on first.

If you want DA/SA, the 226 is the only one on the list to consider.

I can't tell you which one to pick, they are all spiffy guns.  You already have a crap load of guns, you might as well get all the ones you listed.

Generic answer is the G19, but I can't bash any of the others, and frankly how you feel when handling the gun is nearly as important as any of the other salient attributes that these guns exhibit and can negate some of them.  For example; If you don't mind polishing  and maintaining guns and want to have a little flair and history, go for the HiPower.

I cannot ever decide on guns and usually let fate dictate it for me.  I got a Beretta in a trade, got a helluva deal on a Glock, and a Sig in a trade as well, none of them I would have gone shopping for in the first place, but I am happy that I have them all.

I use a G19  but liked the feel of the M&P better but I like to have a lot of mags so when I go shoot I actually shoot not reload and Glock mags were half the price of M&P's plus M&P mags were hard to find at the time. If you are fine with only a couple of mags or are able to spend $30+ on more I would say M&P.

You should get the CZ since you don't have one.
One of the CZ-75 family is a MUST HAVE.

They're cheap, rugged, reliable, easy to carry, have good triggers, etc.

Stock CZ-75 family guns in 9 mm are quite competative, and have repeatedly won, in run and shoot competition (USPSA) against Glocks, SIGS, Berettas, and all others in their class.  That's what got me into them.

They are a bit heavier since they're all steel.

I'm a 1911 guy mostly (have had seven), but have CZ, SIGs, XDs, BHP, and have shot Glocks enough.
My preference is not striker fired guns because I don't like the lack of safety, and find the thicker slides not as comfortable or concealable for carry.  I also really like the thumb ride on the thumb safety grip.  I find a low thumb grip uncomfortable, and I often activate the slide stop while shooting the striker fireds (not good), and sometimes wit SIG as well.  For me, thumb safeties are the way to go.

I've had all the ones in your poll, and the only ones I'd be interested in buying again would be the CZ and the M&P.

Here's my gripes with the rest, in thumbnail format:

Glock: stupid grip angle & finger grooves, can't shoot lead out of factory bbl
BHP: awful trigger with horrible reset, needs new safety, sights, etc.
SIG: DA/SA trigger is like shackling a cinder block to your ankle while trying to run a race.   It's an impediment you just shouldn't have to deal with.

The complicated answer is the only post I've read that actually makes alot of sense, The Glock crowd will always tell you Glock is the answer..I beg to differ, there many pistols that MAY fit your criteria. YOU need to find a range that rents them and try them for yourself, remember YOU are the one who is going to shoot it, pay for it, and possibly depend on it, So it should fit not only your hands , but also your needs. Don't let the internet fanboys sway you, Go with what works for YOU!!

All of the pistols you list are good.  The M&P doesn't have the track record yet.  But the others have stood the test of time.

I find the CZs to be incredibly accurate.

You left out a really good pistol, the M9.  The Beretta is also a very durable, accurate design.

I love my CZ-75B that said the better all-around of the listed is the G19 (I have one too) it only gives up 1 round to the CZ for a noticably smaller size and when you put in a 3.5 lb trigger it wins there too.

The only downside to a Glock is no second trigger pull if the first round fails to fire.

I voted G19 because you might want to carry it. Otherwise I prefer to shoot Sigs. The HK would be up there as well.

I am a CZ nut but if I had to choose a gun for concealed carry, it would be the G-19 or G-26.

The CZ is just too heavy, and the ambi controls will dig into your side depending on which holster you are using.

Good choice going with 9mm.

If it were me I would sell all that other crap except for the 686, get a glock 34, a glock 19, and a CZ-75 SP-01 Shadow and be done with it.

I'm torn between the g19, sig226 and any cz75 model all are proven, if it is for ccw g19 all the way because its not as heavy as the other guns.
