Looking for a new .45, and ran across a Taurus 24/7 OSS.  Anyone have one?  Any comments, pro or con?

Thanks,

Steve

I say they are a no go.  But wait, some one who actually owns one might be along to tell you differently.

My buddy had one.
Very problematic.

I've seen the front sight fly off during firing. it was held in place by some sort of setscrew Re-tightened the setscrew, gradually shot itself loose again.
The rubber grip things wear off and got a little ragged after a year. I was unimpressed. Lame trigger. It did eat anything you could find though.

He traded it in towards a Sig 226.

YMMV

I see more people cussing at Taurus semi-autos at the range than any other marque. Funny though, all the 1911s that I have seen and watched run like tops. To be fair, the Glocksters guns run well too, as does my XD.

I had great luck with my Taurus 1911 and am considering the OSS. I like the features, carry cocked and locked and a decocker.

I worked in a gun store and sent back a fair amount of Taurus products for repair.

I had a PT92 and it jammed twice in the 50 rounds I put through it.

YMMV.

Nothing but jams with mine, very disappointing since my PT145 is great. Sent my mags to Taurus, god knows when they will send me replacements knowing them.
