Woe is me. I love my AR15, but can't settle on a good handgun. I really liked the grip on the CZ 75, so in my quest for a good CCW handgun, do any of you have experience with the RAMI or 75 Compact? Open to other suggestions for CCW carry as well. Thanks. |

I've never shot a RAMI, but picking them up at shows and shops, I didn't care for them much. I have a 75 Compact, and I have a friend who has a Compact and a P-01. Either would be fine for CCW. IMO, between the two, I think it comes down to whether you'd rather be able to carry C&L or DA/SA. If you have the P-01, you'll be carrying with the hammer down. The 75 Compact lets you carry C&L or with the hammer down. Differences in the dimensions between the two IMO are negligible, weight included. There are other small additions that you have with the P-01, but I don't think any of them are that substantial. CZ 75 Compact CZ 75 P-01 ETA: I personally usually carry my CZ 83. |
As already stated, they are comparable in size. What tends toward the P01's side is a better reputation. The compact '75s aren't known for their reliability (*especially* with the .40 cal compact). However, the newer P01's share an equal reputation with the fullsize 75B's. Also, the P01 gives you the ability to rail-mount a weapon light; while not necessarily something for CCW, it would allow you to keep the same piece for HD while adding positive capabilities. |
