Trying to settle a bet, where is the dust cover on a 1911, Hipower, Glock, etc? If you can show me a picture even better! I got some people to convince.

The frame forward of the trigger guard, beneath the slide and barrel, is called the dust shield.

Thanks, I know I've seen it in gun rags where they also refer to the dust cover but couldnt find one to show a non believer.

IIRC the term is used in the manual for the 1911A1. That should settle it
