Just got my P3AT back yesterday.  It was gone about 8 1/2 weeks.  Kel-Tec replaced the slide because of a crack.  One of the through-pins at the upper rear is sticking out the left side, slightly.  I had not noticed this before.  Anyone else notice this on their P3AT?

My P3AT is like that. It only sticks out a minute amount (maybe 1/64th", probably even less than that). I just push it back in so it's flush. It has never backed out any more than that.

Yea, I just pushed mine back in.  It seems ok for now.  I haven't really done much testing - less than a box of ammo through so far with no problems.

Mine was the same way when I first got it.  About 300 rounds later it hasn't moved again.

Do you know how many rounds you had through your gun when the slide cracked?  What kind of ammo have you run through it?

I took it to the gun shop and they just pushed the pin back in.  The slide cracked after two or three magazines of regular factory loads.  I'm not planning any defensive loads or hi-power loads through this gun.  It's uncomfortable enough already.

For a ccw, the P3AT is really well thought out.  Keltec doesn't seem to have much pride in workmanship.  However, if this one turns out to be reliable, I'll keep it.  It may really be the only modern gun that is truly concealable - for me.  Just because a gun is covered up doesn't mean it is concealed.  I have a friend with an HK40 (beautiful gun) he carries it on his belt under a loose shirt.  It looks like he is carrying a large plastic and metal object shaped like a gun, stuffed into another plastic object shaped like a holster.

This pin (plastic) was in place solidly on mine.  It had to be removed with a punch and hammer to install an ArmaLaser.  The ArmaLaser can probably solve the problem, since it comes with a replacement metal pin that's screwed into place.

I'm probably a little too paranoid about the durability of this gun since it's so tiny.  I carried for the first time last night.  I'm going to do some research today to see how many laws I broke.  It's tough to be a good guy.  Bad guys don't have carry issues in cars, bars, stores, different states, etc.

So within the first 20 rounds after you got the gun the slide cracked?  Did you buy it new?

LOL, that's very true about being concealed.  I have a few friends who consider covered to be concealed even though there is a large bulge.  The letter of the law in this state say that's good enough.

I love my P3AT for what it is.  Keltec was really an innovator with the design. Tiny, .380 and just over 8oz unloaded... there really wasn't anything else like it.  Now we have Ruger and Kahr following suit with the LCP and P380.  I think I just might have to put the Keltec in the safe once the Kahr P380 hits the streets.

Yes, it was sold to me as new by my local gun shop.  Just got back from the range, and it worked perfectly today.  As I mentioned in another post, keltec doesn't seem to have much pride in workmanship.  However, I'm glad they build and sell the P3AT.  I can be legally armed in just about everything (except a speedo), and if this fell out of my pocket, most of my anti-gun friends wouldn't even identify this as a gun.
