I posted in the HK forum with just one response. So hope it is ok here. Can you HKers tell me pros/cons to the USP 40? I am mostly concerned (like everyone else) about accuracy and reliability. I have a Glock 23, but would like a full size handgun. Thanks! |
| The HK USP in .40 was my first gun ever. I love it. It is really accurate and easy to strip down and clean. With the decocking lever if you use it as a carry gun you can either go cocked and locked, no safety on first shot double action, or safety on and double action, so you've got lots of options. I really have nothing bad to say about it other than the price tag, but it apparently didn't bother me too much since I own one ha. |
| Because the USP was designed around the .40 cal cartridge, it gets the best capacity/size of any round in the USP. It's almost enough to tempt me to buy a USP40 but I really don't like the round enough to justify it. I have three HKs in 45 now, and none in 9mm or 40. For concealed carry the USP40c has a great capacity in a reasonable size. |
| I had one and sold it in a moment of financial need to a friend.......he wont part with it, and I can say that with the .40 round, the USP handled much better in my mind than the Glock 22. The biggest drawback to some was the size, but it never bothered me.........and the mags are somewhat pricey unless you find a good deal......I wish I had mine back |
