| Recently got one of CDNN's catalogs they have them for sale at rather attractive prices..What do any of you know about them? Will browning parts interchange? Quality built? accurate? reliable? POS? advertised as made in the USA, where? Cast frame/slide? |
| I have one of their 1911s, it is a good little gun. I bought it used and you can tell it has seen plenty of use, but it still works perfectly. It will not feed HP consistently. I had a slide stop wear out and it stopped locking back on an empty mag., bought a wilson slide stop and it didn't want to work in my gun. So I called CD and they sent me a new one for like 6 bucks and it has been perfect ever since. Hope that helps you a little bit. |

Considering it is not so hard to find a real Mk. II or III for $500, it'd have to be a very, very low price to make me look twice. From what I understand, most of the parts are made by FEG, so they should be dimensionally identical to FN parts. That being said, CD's quality has not been the greatest in the past. My most recent BHP purchase was a Mk. II in hard chrome, with 4 mags, a C&S commander-style hammer, sear, wide trigger, and extended safety, for $550. This is pulled off another site:
This matches my own personal experiences well. |

I looked at one of these at the shop this afternoon when I stopped by to pick up another Glock. They look halfway decent and seem to resemble the original Hi Power more so than they do the FEG version. I am not sure if these use the same frames and slides as the FEG or not but some of the features are definitely different than the FEG (the safety, the grips and the finish). If they function as well as the FEG Hi-Power, they would be well worth the asking price they are going for. I've had two of the FEGs and both functioned flawlessly, although they didn't seem anywhere near as nice in terms of fit and finish as the FN/Brownings I've handled. But somehow, the "Charles Daly" name scares me away. |
