Just noticed what appears to be a crack in the slide of my new P3AT.  It is located in the top just forward of the chamber opening.  It's visible on top and underneath.  The gun is pretty new, only about two magazines of factory loads through it so far.  Has anyone heard or seen this before?

2 magazines? That's about the expected life of a Kel-Tec. Just pick up a fresh one in a blister pak at Wlamart.

Joking aside, call them up and send it back. They should replace it for you. Obviously, don't fire the weapon until it's been repaired. BSW

Send it to Kel-Tec. They have a great warranty and repair/replacement policy,

It's on its way back to keltec today.  I really like the gun.  It's the only thing I've seen that's really concealable for me without buying lots of new clothes.

Fluff & buff will take care of that.

It might be a scratch, but it is visible both on top and underneath the slide - same location.   If it was a scratch, it would probably not be scratched in exactly the same spot top and bottom.  I'm sure keltec will take care of any problem.  However, if a crack happened this quickly, I sure don't want to see what happens after a few hundred rounds.

Definately send it back to KT, don't shoot it anymore. They have a rep for excellent customer service. I had a P3AT, ran about 95% reliably, terribly innacurate in my hands. Never heard of anyone cracking a slide though.

I just called Kel-tec to check on my P3AT, and they said it will take between 6 and 8 weeks for warranty.  If this gun has to be sent in again I'll just buy a spare...Ruger.

What has been your experience with wait time at keltec?
