I was at the range and struck up a conversation with the shooter next to me. He said that he had a gas operated .45 at home that was extremely accurate and had little recoil.  He said the work was done be a gunsmith in Ohio that converted his stock Kimber into a gas gun. After searching the web, I found the gunsmith's website.  It's www.ncggasgun.com.  This is news to me.  Has anyone ever heard of this conversion?  What is the performance like?

Why in the world someone would pay to convert a perfect design to add more potential mechanical failures is beyond me. Performance wise, I see no added benifit at all, even recoil reduction. Waste of time & money, IMO.
