I have a local gunshop with a used gp 100 for sale. The price is 390.  I think it is a little high.

the gun is a full 6 in. barrel and stainless.

I plan on making an offer.  but not 390.  What would make a fair offer?
here is a pic of what I wish to buy

I'd pay ~300 if it was in really good shape. I bought a 4 inch brand new for 330 and tax last year.

Edit: It was on sale, though.

I bought the same one your looking at for $300 from a private party who only shot 50rds through it. Infact is was my first gun and I still have it. I'd go as high as $300.

Heres mine:

I added the Hogue grips later.

My offer + tax would be a little higher than that.  That is what I will offer. Or leave.

Are you happy with the gun?

I have the 4 inch. Solid, easy to clean, more accurate than I. I paid $400.

The trigger is smooth but a bit heavy with double action. That is the only thing I have ever read that is not really a complaint but not a plus. But they do have spring-kits available for about $10 that fix that issue.

Happy?! Are you serious?.....J/K Its the most accurate handgun I own!Double action or single action with 38spl or .357, it does not matter. I can shoot it in SA or DA just as accuratly. I bought a spring kit from Wolff but never installed it as I think the stock setup is fine. Feels perfect in the hand, built like a tank and has never given me any problems. Its one handgun I will never sell.

Used but like new. Not a scratch on the thing. Looked like it had never been fired.

I just now placed an order from Midway for the spring kit, red stripe front sight, Houge grips, and 2 Safariland speed loaders. Total was $60.00 shipped.

I plan on using it for some matches this comming spring.
All I will need now is a good holster and a few more speed loaders.

I got mine for about $375 which included the $25 transfer fee because I bought it on gunbroker.  I love the thing, it shoots great and is fun.

I don't think $390 is too outrageous for a local shop - got to keep the locals in business.  If I were you I'd try to dicker a bit, but if they absolutely won't move, buy it for $390.  You won't be sorry.

I know of only one gp100 that "blew up"  the guy that blew it up was reloading with rifle powder,  and BANG.  Othewise they are overbuilt.  i've had mine for about 15 years.  it is 100% dependable. and I still enjoy shooting it.
