I've always wanted a Colt Walker pistol ever since I saw one in the movie "True Grit". What I didn't want was the blackpowder that went with it.

Now there's a couple of companies who make replacement cylinders that allow centerfire ammo to be used in these replica guns. Guns & Blammo has a short article on them in this months issue.

My question is, is the blackpowder version of .44 and/or .45 bore going to work for modern ammo in .44 special or .45LC? Will it be too tight or rattle down the barrel?

Keep in mind I'd only use a replica, not an original Walker.
