When people say FTF do they mean going to an FFL and doing that way or just doing it from person to person?

I feel your pain man. Learning all the Forum abbreviation lingo can be a nightmare.

Anyway, I think it means FFL-to-FFL, but somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

FTF=face to face.  you dont need a FFL for in-state transactions.

He's correct.

Also, did you folks know that you can actually mail pistols & rifles in the SAME state without the use of an FFL?

Honest.  You can just take a rifle/longarm, waltz on up to your local post office and ship that puppy to anyone in the same state.  However pistols may only be shipped via UPS or Fedex in the same state.  Only catch is that you're obligated to inform the person you give it to that you're shipping a firearm.

Usually FTF means Face-to-Face, although some do require you be a licensed concealed permit holder, OR you have to go to an FFL and transfer there, but usually they spell that out.

When I see FTF I assume, I bring cash, you bring gun, we go our separate ways after you are satisfied with the money and I'm satisfied with the product.

Ok... My question was answered :-)

When someone says FTF I don't want to meet at an FFL and transfer it there and pay the transfer fees and background checks and everything.

In PA you can Face to Face rifles and shotguns.

Pistols must be thru FFL.

All of the above are correct but with a catch.  State laws can supercede federal laws in the case of mailing firearms within the state or face-to-face sales.

Correct, in MI you can mail rifles in-state but pistols need to be face to face (with a permit or CCW) or through an FFL.
