When I was at the range yesterday, I noticed after about the 4th round fired, the takedown lever was knocked down by the slide. This is a serious problem to have, I don't want my slide going flying off if I need to use my weapon. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of gun are you using?

A Sig P232 perhaps

Upon disassembly did you find anything odd?

What condition is the recoil spring in?

When the slide is off of the pistol is the takedown lever movement positive?  Does it stay in the closed position or is it loose?

More questions:

Did you disassemble the pistol prior to your most recent shooting session?

The takedown lever of my Sig 232 sometimes does not "snap" all the way closed upon reassembly.

When the weapon is disassembled, everything appears fine. The takedown lever is not loose at all, snaps up and down tightly. Once a few rounds go through, the slide catches the lever and moves it into the "takedown" position.

I suggest you call SIG. I've never heard of that happening before and if the recoil spring is fine then you may need a new takedown lever or takedown lever spring.

I agree.  Factory service is needed here.
