You might consider posting your question in the Competition forum under IDPA.

That mag holder sure looks like it is a concealment type.

IDPA has some rule about daylight between the holster and gunbelt. I dont know if that applies to magazine pouches as well.

From the Pics on the manuf web. I cant see anything wrong.

Did they tell you why?

ETA
from the 2005 IDPA rule book pg 36

Magazine carrier must:
A. Be designed for concealed carry and suitable for all day
continuous wear.
B. Be worn on a standard belt of no more than 1 ¾” width that
must pass through the belt loops on the shooter’s pants.
C. Hold the magazine with enough tension to allow it to be
turned upside down and retain a fully loaded magazine.
D. Cover 2” of the magazine as measured from the top of the
cartridge rim down the back flat of the magazine tube.
E. Cover the entire front face of the portion of the magazine
inside the carrier. The front face is defined as the side of the
tube away from the shooter’s body.
F. Hold the magazine within 10 degrees of vertical (80-100° to
the ground) position on the belt, no substantial forward or rear
cant.
G. Be worn in a belt location that will position the front edge of
the carrier behind the centerline of the body.

Might I suggest shooting Production class in IPSC?

If this is on a duty rig, you need to wear your duty belt and it's legal.

The idea is to have something that's practical for concealment.... IE: not IPSC.

Per the rules the magazine can't be open in the front face. That pic is of the front face per IDPA defention.

I can nothing in the rules that state the magazine pouch must wrap fully around the magizne. All I can find is the front face cant be opened.

I'd send an Email off to IDPA for there ruling on the magazine holder.

Also DL the Rule book you see what type of magazine is a no-go.

Magazine carrier must:
A. Be designed for concealed carry and suitable for all day
continuous wear.

GO

B. Be worn on a standard belt of no more than 1 ¾” width that
must pass through the belt loops on the shooter’s pants.

GO

C. Hold the magazine with enough tension to allow it to be
turned upside down and retain a fully loaded magazine.

Tension is adjustable GO

D. Cover 2” of the magazine as measured from the top of the
cartridge rim down the back flat of the magazine tube.

Kind of hard to measure a picture. unkown

E. Cover the entire front face of the portion of the magazine
inside the carrier. The front face is defined as the side of the
tube away from the shooter’s body.

it does.

F. Hold the magazine within 10 degrees of vertical (80-100° to
the ground) position on the belt, no substantial forward or rear
cant.

go

G. Be worn in a belt location that will position the front edge of
the carrier behind the centerline of the body.
