I have heard that Smith and Wesson VASTLY under estimated the demand for these monsters, so I would assume it would be awhile.

I don't really like magnum revolvers, but I want one of these also. I read a review that they are heavy enough that they are not as obnoxious as a short barrelled .44 magnum (not that I believe that).

Has anyone heard any estimates of what the ammo for this pig is gonna cost? For $2-3 a shot it better blow cars up like they do in the movies, or at least hit the bad guy hard enough to make him fly back 6 feet and through a plate glass window.

Your right it is not going to be a plinking gun, as much as the ammo costs, it will be a great hunting gun, and I will shoot it enough to make sure I am familiar with it for hunting. Other than that ??????????????????

Owning a Wesson Supermag revolver for some time, I am familiar with that size of weapon.  It is more than I want to carry for a long time. I am not too curious about the 500. I'm glad someone finally went, 'over the top."  Glad it is here, wish new owners all the fun in the world; I just don't want one.
I'd rather have a Ruger 480
Or a small frame BFR in 50 Action Express
That's really all I want out of a revolver.
