Sadly, the last 6 years of republican control have lulled me into a false sense of security.  As my wife and I watched "Hilary watch" on Chicken Noodle News at a local restaurant, she looked at me and said "if you even suspect she might get elected, you better stock up (guns and ammo) now."  I smiled and laughed, but then realized she was bringing me back to the reality that democratic control could be just 2 years away.

I have the typical hunting rifles, shotguns and a well fitted AR, but what are good selections in the handgun arena.  I want to stay 9mm and / or .45 ACP for easy to find and load ammo.  I'm looking for a sub compact CCW, a fullsize stay home piece, and maybe a good range gun suitable for local comp shoots.

What do you like?
