I'm getting another XD this one a XD40 and I am thinking about getting it in OD and having the slide refinished in OD to match the frame. Who would be the best source for this type of work and any feedback, suggestions and links will be greatly appreciated.

I think Lauer Custom Weapons in the industry forum will do this work for you. I have used them a few times and been very happy with their work.
