So I got one of those DAC Sportsafe gun-safes, with the 4 buttons.  I set a combination, but am not convinced it is the best.  Any recommendations of fast, yet secure combinations?  We have children, so I don't want too simple a combination, but I also don't want one that is too difficult to remember/activate.  You can use from 3 to 6 numbers.  I thought what I had was  good, but the wife thinks it is too complex.

Any recommendations?

Also, if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it.

Use the last 4 digits of your phone number. You'll be able to remember it under stress & most likely the kids will never guess it.

I would, but the digits are too high.  This is the safe with four buttoms for your four fingers, so you have 1-4, and can use from 3 to 6 buttons.  I have 4-3-2-1-4-1, but I am pretty sure I will be changing it out.

Use the standard caliber of the ar15 and repeat it:  223223

1. Easy to remeber.
2. Puting your index finger on the "2" and middle finger on the "3" it can be done very quickly.

Wow, thanks, now that is the sort of code I was looking for!

Somewhat embarrassed I didn't think of it.

Thanks again.

I agree that a two button combo would be easier to open in a need to open situation.
