I need to break down and get new sights for my 19, the original plastic crappy ones are banged to hell (instructor at pistol class "Dude buy some new sights, these things suck!"). I was going to get trijicons, that's what I have on my 36, but I am thinking about trying novaks. I see some strange rear sight they have with a straight bar across the bottom, anyone use that? I am not really interested in anything but the regular 3 dots, more just curious.

I've pretty much only seen Novaks on 1911's.  Everybody else uses Meprolight or Trijicon.  My personal preference is Trijicon.

Doesn't your 1911 have Novaks on them? I think the Glock Novaks have a similar profile.

The Mepros on my Kimber are much brighter than my Novaks, but are newer as well.

I owned a Glock 17 with Novak bar-dot night sights on them.  They use Trijicon inserts.  The bar dot is nice in dim light, but I still prefer 3 dot or just tritium in the front.

The nice thing is that everyone is making a knockoff of the Novak style these days.

I just installed some Trijicons on my Kimber Ultra Carry.  They seriously Rock, much better sight picture than the Meprolights (for me).

Check out Heinie straight eights. I flirted with Novaks and settled on Heinies.

+1 on the Heinie straight eights.  I have a set on my Glock 21 and 1911.  Clean fast sight picture

Dawson Precision has just about every combination of replacement sights available for Glocks.  They are worth a look.

I use the Novak bar-dot combination on my Glock 17.  I also have the Glock night-sights on my Glock 19.  Given the price difference, I'd go with the factory Glock night-sights.  I like the bar-dot, but not that much!
