Any body have experience with these?  They're real light (12 oz.) with an aluminum frame.   Got the itch to buy a snubbie, and these seem like a bargain....

I only have experince with the old ones - had one that was tiny and light, ended up giving it to my sister along with some light, non-+P loads.  (She had a medium-framed .357/.38 for in the house, but wanted something "purse-sized.")  Good fit and finish IMHO, no problems.

The company has changed hands once or twice since then, so I can't comment on recent/current ones...

bought one for my mother about 25 yrs ago, took that damn .25  off of her and threw it in the trash ( hypothetically speaking ) when she passed away 4 1/2 yrs ago I got it back.

She loved it, I like it alot. accurate shooter with 3.2 gr of bullseye and 148 gr wadcutters inverted.

nice little backup

The old ones were good while the new ones suck. I had an old one made in the 70s that would shoot anything I fed it. I bought a new one a few years ago and didn't even fire a full cylinder before it locked up. I was shooting standard 38 ammo in it and on the third round it locked up, couldn't open the cylinder nothing. I had to send it back to the factory with two live rounds still in it. They fixed it, I got it back and immediately traded it off. Buy a S&W or a Taurus.

I bought one a few months back and it is a good shooter. For the money, this light five shot .38Sp is a good gun.  I owned the older one back in the late eighties and I found the grip to be too small.  The new ones have real nice rubber grips that are a bit larger. If you want an inexspensive snubby, this will fit the bill.  Just for your info, they do not recommend shooting +P ammo in it. Just get some standard velocity HP's and you'll be good to go.

my dad had one of the old school ones, very good pistol for the price

i did briefly handle one of the newer ones a few yrs back (bobbed hammer, shrouded cylender lock, real smooth lines), fired 5 rnds of Fed hydrashoks--nice little gun; i would not run +P in it though, but i cant say why not.....

Avoid the shrouded barrel versions.  The shroud was a separate piece that tended to come off with a lot of shooting.  As others have said the originals were decent guns for the money.  The later versions could be decent or could a headache.
