Has any of you bought a bar-sto 9mm barrel for a sig p229 in .40 s&w? Should that be done? Are there any precautions that I should be aware of before doing this? The gun only has a 1 yr. warranty because it is CPO. Will doing this void the warranty????

I realize that I would need to change magazines too.hinking.gif

Bar-Sto makes drop-in barrels for the P229 in all calibers.  I converted my 357SIG model to .40SW when I got tired of the PTA reloading of the 357SIG.

Because the slide of the P229 is milled, the variation among firearms is minimal and a drop-in will work very well.  If you want the extra accuracy, you can send it to Bar-Sto for fitting for extra $$, but I don't see it as worth it because the Bar-Sto barrel fits very well.

Other than the magazine swap, you shouldn't see any difference or safety issues.

SIG will never know if you put another barrel in the gun for a 9mm caliber change, so I'd go ahead and do it.
