Anyone have any feedback on the Colt Defender +. I was thinking about getting one of these but would appreciate any feedback anyone may have on this gun. |

Hay Mouse. I've had one for about a yr now. If ya carry a 1911, you'll like the Defender for carry. It's size an weight lets it carry as easy as any pistol there is. It has earned a great repatation for reliability. And it's very shootable as far as recoil. And will surprise you with it's accuracy. But it's lightweight alloy frame makes it a limited shooting practice gun. Alloy frames will wear faster than steel. Mine has about 1700rnds through it. I usually practice with my steel commander most, then just shot some to fine tune my feel for the Defender with the Defender. The only thing I have done to mine is slightly dehorn the gripsafety edge and put a Wilson combat spring steel extractor in it. I hear Colt has quit useing the min extractor now, but yor's may have it in it. And I would replace it with spring steel. I've never broke a min extractor but I replace all of them if I carry it. Colt did the Defender right, check ot 1911.com for alot of info. |
