1911 technology vs 1985 technology... no contest. it's like comparing a Model T to a Corvette. or like comparing the UNIVAC to a Sun E20K cluster. ar-jedi (relax people, it's in jest!) ETA--> www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=5&f=4&t=13658 |

I tried a sand test with my friends new glock and my HK USP 45 full size with 1000 rounds threw it. his glock jammed my hk ran threw the mag. Testing a 15k gun against almost new ones shows nothing in head to head tests. EDIT his glock was a 19 Edit 2: His glock fired the round in the chamber than did not fully chamber the next round. |
Bigbore's thread was the very reason for me to get the Glock 21. |
You got that right!!! Glock 21 $560, 2 boxes of WWB .45ACP $39.90, 2 extra G21 13 round mags $32 Not having to replace extractors, mags, grips, triggers, full length guide rods, two trips to the gunsmith and all around kicking the 1911's ass....... PRICELESS GLOCK=PREFECTION ![]() I know I will get flamed for that one....but I don't care ![]() |
I thought they already had an illegitimate child....that new Kimber .40 with the polymer frame..... |
That thread is one of the best testiments to the strength of the Glock pistol that will ever be. With that said, I always thought the spring/guide rod setup bigbore used played a big part in how well that pistol functioned in the tests. A flat recoil spring w/ a soft(er) plastic guide rod would be more prone to catching up sand (or bead blasting media I suppose) and jamming up the works. |

![]() Actually, the Kimber is all stainless (the Eclipse comes with the flat black already applied as seen above), and the other is Tenifer, so neither will rust |

where it belongs.
