Can anyone comment on features listed, maybe give me an offline run down of their feelings about this recocker/decocker thing.  I don't see it on Springfield's website nor do I see reviews of it.

I'm worried, as I saw the gun tonight, actually completed the trade, and now have concerns.  The rest of the gun is SWEET!!!  Nice action, good trigger pull, nice condition ... but this feature has me very concerned.

Thanks,

Ed

Its not a decocker or anything like that.  Just rack your slide.. now with the hammer down push the thumb safety up and it makes the gun safe.. you can't pull the trigger, can't rack the slide, or raise the hammer. It's standard.  My Springfield Micro Compact has one.  It's there to feel safer carrying it cocked and locked so when you draw the pistol as your coming up you just flick it down and pull the trigger.

This thing is SPRING loaded, I am otherwise familiar with the manual of arms for a 1911.

You drop the hammer down to half cock, flick the "safety" lever down and the hammer jumps back to full cock.  Problem is the thing will NOT go into full locked position, i.e the same position a standard 1911's safety would be in for "cocked and locked".  At least it does not lock in to the notch.  Is there something else internal that locks the slide too?

Does not seem to engage the primary safety.  The grip safety will not allow the trigger to pull, but the hammer can still fall on an exposed firing pin actuator.

Shivan,
If you check the ad you will notice that the recocking feature was listed, and it is a CYLINDER & SLIDE product, contact them direct with questions.  As far as your grip safety not operating, either has been deactivated or the leg is to short.

Good luck

Ron:

Definitely knew it was on the gun.  Figured to be similar to the H&K Variant 1.  It's not quite, but since this will not be my CC gun, I have no worries as it will be loaded on the line, fired on the line and then unloaded.

Cylinder and Slide states, "it may be 6 to 8 weeks for us to respond to email".  Also no mention of said feature in their list of goodies.  This is also claimed to be from Springfield this way.  I have an email to Springfield.

Thanks,

Ed
