This is a lifetime gun that will last. https://i.imgur.com/Uqbv1Fj.jpg Not entirely sure about that. SAR build isn't the most consistent, and customer service has left a bit to be desired. Comparisons are now, at least it seems, almost a decade old but the Canik CZ pattern guns usually won the comparison. I have four, so maybe I'm biased. Out of the OP's list I'd pick either the Canick or XD, only because of my experiences. |

I highly considered making an RM1c my new primary carry gun, but I went with the Echelon 4.0c since I already have compatible accessories/magazines. |

OP, what is most important consideration in your list of requirements? Price? It seems to me a lot of the guys here are simply throwing out options without that consideration, but I guess it's all relative, right? I suppose a $600 gun may be "poverty" level to some. If price point is a major consideration, then I offer the Taurus G3C and full-size G3, as a few have already mentioned. Academy recently had a sale on the G3C and there was a rebate from Taurus on top of that, so the final price, including tax, was $197.38 - new. At that price, it was hard to say no so I picked one up. I've only got a few hundred rounds through mine, but so far no problems. They're pretty neat little guns - good ergos, small, 13rds of 9mm, take Glock sights, can use Sig mags, and they have a second strike ability. I'm putting it in one of the cars' gloveboxes. As for the G3, I see them selling on GB for around $125 - $150, new. I think the hesitation to buy these comes from the Taurus name. |

I think more than a decade ago now, Taurus pulled a SIG much worse than SIG has, deny, deny, deny, til a Brazilian cop with a shake awake service pistol showed his issue Taurus firing repeatedly on a police range just by shaking it on YouTube. Taurus settled, fixed their sear issue, and now are discounted for reputational damage rather than mechanical or quality issues on their semi-autos. |

I bought two S&W M&P 2.0's in .40 S&W last year for $249 each. Both gun were probably carried by a desk worker. There was no wear inside or out. They looked brand new even internally. They had all of the accessories / panels etc, and two mags They both have a lifetime warranty with free upgrades to the straight trigger, new night sights, etc, through Lew Horton's, the distributor they were bought through. The 9mm usually goes for a little more, maybe $40, but not much. That's a good option. Honestly, any Glock or M&P if bought through a police department sell off on Gunbroker or even in store, is a fantastic deal. They are equally reliable, parts and magazines are dirt cheap as well. Mags, used, are about $15. I bought four from CDNN and two of them looked new, and were in factory packaging, and two were in real good condition. I've tested them all, and they all function perfectly in both guns without issue. |

This isn't a poverty problem but one of just a bad spender. I understand that you have trouble saving up but only because you're spending it otherwise. My thought is save up, buy once, cry once. At this point, you'll probably sell the pistol to fund other things. My thought is that try your best to save up to at least $900 bucks, buy a nice pistol that you want, and just be done with it. |

Quoted for emphasis. My 30M lost an extractor (long out of stock everywhere) and it was a couple years before a spare slide popped up on Gunbroker. I’d bought it as a curio so I was prepared to deal with the parts situation from the beginning. It would be a poor choice for a handgun to carry or do a lot of training with, IMO. |

Op being cheap is what I endeavour to become. Err I am thrify. Any way, I went on a budget pistol buying spree and I own over 40 just 9mm pistols. Now if course I would get the p10c because I am a CZ guy. But we are blessed today with multiple options that are very good guns. We'll do Ruger first. Security9, security 9 compact, Sr9 and hopefully in the near future the American will be around $325 Then there is the RXM Beretta AXshitiforget A1. Those are in the $350ish range. Outstanding really. Springer XD. They have xd xdm xdme mod3 whatever. But they are in the $325 range and are very good. Also got that xdme compact 45 and its great. Sar9 and other Turkish pistols. I own the sar9 and a mc9 disruptor. Nothing wrong with those. If you can swing the IWI Masada or Jericho enhanced they are pretty good pistols but run greater than $350. I don't do tarass but lots of guys say the new tarass, ass(I forgot which model) is good. They should do a pistol named ASS. If course CZ. But those are in the $550 range and the IWI offerings are likely around that. I S&W SD9 2.0. $350 after taxes. It's a new one to me so I only have a few 100 rounds threw it. The best cheap assed close out pistol I purchased was $325 and that was a Styer. Absolutely a $600 9mm at the time. There are lots more choices and I don't own a poor 9mm pistol. Some are better than others. Some features folks like more or less. And you can spend a bunch more money and get something kooler but I own these cheaper options so can recommend. |

HiPoint, but you'll have to buy suspenders or a shoulder holster. 3-D printer and then you can print Glocks and Glock mags to your heart's content. ETA: If you're spending Dagger money than a Glurk 19 will suit, Muslim child labor is cheaper than Carolina child labor. I just bought two budget pistols on sale at PSA lcp max stainless slide $199. XDM elite defender compact $299. Took them out yesterday with my son. First thing I did was a pinky extension on the XDM. It should come with one but it didn't. That is my only complaint The XDM shot nice fist size groups at 7-10yds for both of us. It reminds me of a g26 with a g19 slide. Thick and blocky. No jams or ftf. I'm happy with my purchase. It made for a fun day with my son. |

Point being, having a bunch of cheap guns you’re not excited to shoot is a vicious cycle. That used to be me. Let me help that little guy on one of your shoulders. The PDP is a great pistol. It's level up pricing from what Op had in mind though. I own the PDP, HK vp9, HK vp9L, several CZ's, m&p's, echelon, IWI, beretta's Several guys at work own Echelons and love them. |

I am very, very happy with my $320ish Inglis Hi-Power. For a great CCW: Shield Plus(es) are selling for about $400 new on gunbroker. Shield 1.0's float around $200-$250. Reliable, small, & cheap. PSA Daggers are usually less than $350. If you want a Glock or M&P: LE trade in. Dont hesitate to buy .40 and swap barrel. |

I know that $250 itch all too well; it’s the "buy a Taurus now or wait a week for something better" struggle. If you can hold out for just $100 more, you get into the Mossberg MC2c territory (~$320–$350 street price). It’s the ultimate sleeper that most people overlook because they only think of Mossberg for shotguns. It’s only 1.1 inches wide but carries 15+1, which effectively beats the Shield and the G43X on your list for capacity. Also, the 'Safe Takedown System' is the big winner for me; you can remove the striker assembly without ever pulling the trigger to strip the gun. I just published a 2,500-round technical evaluation on one. It had a short break-in period (about 200 rounds), but after that, it ran like a tank and quickly became my EDC. If you want to see the actual accuracy data and how the internals held up after that many rounds, I did a full data-driven breakdown here. It’s 100% worth the extra few days of saving to get a gun that punches way above its price tag. Let us know what you decide to run with! |
