My local gun shop has a 6" blued Colt Python...exactly the piece I have dreamed of having for about 20 years now. The serial number is K724XX...can anyone tell me the year it was made? I'm hoping it's an older one!

K724XX was made in 1981.
The "K series was new that year, and started at K01000. The year ended at K75747.

My Python has no letters at all in the serial#. I'm getting curious.
