I bought an almost new Ruger  Mark II at last weeks gun show. It has the tapered 6 7/8 barrel and is marked Target model. I don't know much about Ruger 22 auto loaders. What is the difference between the Mark Is Mark IIs and the Mark III? I know Mags don'tinterchange?  I did measure the trigger on my Lymans pull guage and found it broke at 2 lbs 3 oz. Did I do alright for 2 bills? Thanks for your help

For $200, yes, you did ok. No clue as to the differences as I am a Buckmark fan.

MKII has the mag release in the heel

MKIII has the mag release behind trigger but... Ruger also added a stupid magazine disconnect safety(), a loaded chamber indicator, and some internal allen wrench lock-out safety thing. They also did a slight redesign on the bolt "ears"

+1, I dislike the new changes.  The MKII is a great pistol, no need to change it

MK-II is a good .22 pistol, and for the price you got a deal.

The only advantage to the MKIII is the mag release, the rest is "fluff", IMO.
The older original MKI had a 9 round mag and the bolt did not stay open on the last shot...good for "click-flinch" checks.
You now have a .22 that should last forever...add it to your will.

My Dad has a MKI he bought new in 1958 for $58. I am guessing I have put close to 10,000 rds
through it. We used to always take it shooting,.When we got done with our other shooting we used it to shoot bees off the fruit we had thrown out on arrival.

I have the exact MkII you bought.  $200 is great.  You'll find the pistol will keep up with the best of shooters.  Mine puts mean 10rnd groups.

AFAIK mags interchange just fine.  My dad has a Mk1, and we've ended up swapping mags a few times at the range and both ran fine.

Rugers are, IMO, the best .22 Autoloader on the market.  I've yet to shoot one yet that I truly liked better.

I've got about 60,000+ rounds through mine.  It's showing signs of wear but it won't break.
