I've shot quite a few in my search, but HK's are the only polymer 45's that won me over. I haven't tried an M&P 45 yet though.

I'd also jump on a Sig P227 if I came across one for the right price.

I am thinking I should either grab a HK USP (compact/tactical or whatever I can find) or a CZ 97B.

How does the CZ97 in .45 ACP compare the SIG P220?

Another on my list is the FNX-45 tactical, more for the capacity than anything else.

Between the CZ 97B and the FNX-45 tactical which one would you get first ?

HK45C
HK45

I like pistols of all brands but HK makes my favorite non-1911 .45's

Do you want a high capacity .45 that can be a suppressor host and take a red dot out of the box? FNX. It's a good shooter, but if you smash down on safeties to take them off, you might not like it since you can accidentally decock it.

It'll have a pretty heavy DA, but it doesn't stack too bad, the SA is nice, but not CZ nice.

If you want a great shooting double stack .45, the 97B is great. There are some +2 extensions that will work with them, mostly the EAA ones.

97B isn't that much wider than the 75B 9mm. The FNX is like a 2"x3". You can run either DA/SA or SAO, although I think the CZ does a better job of it.

If you like decocked only, there's a 97BD.

No need for a suppressor host, as I am in IL and silencers are not allowed here. Just want a good shooter with a good capacity. Like the CZ 97BD but with its limited capacity how is it different from a 1911? I have a used S&W 4566 TSW and it shoots awesome. Looking for a fun non 1911 .45 that shoots nice and preferably has a higher capacity. Also, in these days, I would be running all types of cheap .45 ACP ammo through it including steel cased Tula, Wolf, and reloads. So don't want something where I have worry about the extractors breaking or something to baby around.

The 97BD or 97B are great shooting 45s. Work of art. The FNX is a tactical workhorse.

Different guns altogether.

I really like my M&P 45 Mid 1.0. I bought it because it was cheap but dang if it doesn’t handle and shoot really well. And my Shield 45 shoots great for its size.

?  Para-Ordnance?  13 round magazine?

My favorite - HiPoint, of course, converted to 1911 mags.  Fixed bbl, meh but consistent trigger, have shot it at 130 yds.  Cheap and irritates the shit out of folks w/ fancy guns.  Waiting for it to ship back from an ARFCOMer.

I had my 97B long before the FNX Tac was a glimmer in FN’s eye, but I’d buy the Tac first right now if I had to buy them both again.

I really like the 97B, but the accuracy for mine is finicky depending on ammo brand.  Something I can’t replicate in the FNX or even my 1911.  Makes for a frustrating range trip when you go from awesome groups to WTF when you change ammo.  FNX is pretty much the honey badger and doesn’t care.

Put this way, the FNX is a better combat weapon and the CZ is more of a sport shooting gun.  I value the combat weapon aspects more right now.

I know there’s a newer version of the 97B with a slightly different barrel/bushing setup that may address my annoyances.  I also know I’ve sent a bunch of emails to CZ asking for a updated 97B with the SP-01 treatment and redesigned magazines. As fat as that grip is, it should be 12+ rounds. I’d preorder an updated suppressor ready 97 so fast my CC would explode.

I have an HK45 and a P227 Tactical which finally works right with the 14 round mags after a spring swap.

Of the two, I’d say the Sig because of 15 rounds, except for HK45 because of sexiest black pistol alive.  Both shoot extremely well.

I’d like to pick up an XDM 45 to have a high cap polymer gun that doesn’t feel like a brick.  Held a G21 once intending to purchase, it told me I wouldn’t like it.

HK USP 45 is my favorite shooter.
HK45C is my favorite carry 45. More recoil than the USP, but a handier sized package, especially when concealment is important.
