Ok, well I'm admittedly too lazy to read through 12 pages of this thread.
Who is the go to for an rmr cut for a Smith m&p 1.0? It's a vtac model. TIA. |

Just got this today. Hate bragging about a China optic but honestly the features blow away the RMR. Warranty does, too. Looking forward to getting it zeroed
Cut from Black Phoenix Customs. They had a cut and nitride finish Sale in March for like $80. Ridiculous. Added the tall sights and was at like $135 shipped. Hope can you say no to that Attached File |

The Holosun is a great optic but that warranty statement is 100% false. They are nowhere near Trijicon in the warranty department.

Man I'm ready to take the micro red dot plunge.
The only problem is there are no good options. The holosun looks decent but I made a vow to avoid Chinese products whenever possible because fuck China. That leaves the Trijicon but I can't stand the blue tint. I really want a trijicon with clearer glass. I guess I'll keep waiting... |

The RMR type 2 and Holosun 400/500 series are duty grade per Sage Dynamics testing. They both use the same footprint as well.
I prefer the RMR but been very impressed handling my friends holosuns. |

What's everyone using for holsters? Prefer Safariland with level 1 thumb retention. Currently using the 7378 but that won't work anymore

And for anyone that hates the tint, it's there for a reason. That tint helps you see the dot and prolong battery life. The Trijicon MRO also has the same tint.

I've got an SMSc, 1200+ rds, carried 7 days a week 10-15 hrs a day
for about 90 days so far and has held zero since day one shot weekly. I dont expect it would hold up real well if it was bounced across the parking lot but, I'm happy with it until something better becomes available. |

By all accounts they're pretty fragile. Aaron Cowan did some testing and they didn't fair well. The Brits aren't known for their abilities with anything electric. Picked up an M18 yesterday. Going to put another RMR on it via the Bobro engineering RMR plate. I am also going to delete the manual safety and install an Apex enhanced trigger kit because for some reason this M18 has the worst P320 trigger I've ever felt. Attached File |

I should try one of these..
whats the cheapest slide for a gen 4 glock 17? I don't really want to cut mine up until I test out the waters figure I can get a cheap slide to accept an rmr and sell if it doesn't work out. |

Keep in mind that you'll be learning a new skill without the aid of co-witness sights. I found that with a quick presentation, the gun was pointed exactly where it needed to be, but my head was in the wrong position. I heard one instructor say that it's not necessarily better or worse, just different, and you need to train with it. It's taken awhile, but I'm finally getting it down. I used the Outerimpact mount for my M&P pro. Nice thing about that one is that it accepts multiple sight footptints.

I am in still the testing phase, I have a DDP on a Sig M17. Right now, I am still too slow on the first target, but am getting faster on follow up shots. I'm torn on what I think right now. I do love a red dot on my shoulder fired weapons, so there is that.

View Quote One thing that helped me, was as soon as the gun clears the holster, drop your elbow bringing the pistol horizontal. While extending the pistol out and focusing on your target, you will see the front sight in your peripheral vision. As you’re extending your arm(s) the dot will come into your vision. One thing a red dot sight did, was really clean up my draw. |
